The Bangles Greatest Hitsl
Rock historians view The Bangles as one of the greatest all-female bands, lauded for their inventive incorporation of '60s folk rock, sunny SoCal harmonies and Beatles/Byrds/Beach Boys influences into a sound all its own. Now, guitarists Susanna Hoffs and Vicki Peterson and drummer Debbi Peterson return with a night of their greatest hits at The Ridgefield Playhouse on Friday, August 26 at 8 p.m. as part of the Pepsi Rock Series powered by Xfinity.

Releasing debut EP Bangles on IRS Records in 1982, the buzz around the band would land them on Columbia by the time they issued debut album, All Over the Place. Over the course of just two more studio albums and a greatest hits release, The Bangles would become one of the biggest bands in music before temporarily calling it a day in 1989.
`Who remembers the 1980s? Who remembers new wave?'' asked guitarist Jane Weidlin during the Go-Go's recent performance in New York. A lot of people, apparently, enough to fill the large club to capacity. The band, whose pop rock hits were a staple on radio during their brief reign in the early part of the decade, have re-formed to promote their new greatest-hits collection, ``Return to the Valley of the Go-Go's'' (IRS).
